WHIP IT
I loved this movie! I just saw it last night because P’s company has product placement, so they gave an advance screening. Seriously though, I have nothing vested in his employer’s brand awareness, so I am speaking totally from my own feelings.
It was unpretentious and sweet. The story is about a high school girl discovering her own identity through roller derby. It made me smile and escape reality. It also made me want to engage in contact sports, and reflect a little bit on my own self-awareness. :) I can’t wait to hear what roller derby girls and Austinites think of the movie and also how much it reflects the real roller derby and Austin, TX scene. Supposedly a girl at the place where I temp does roller derby, so if I meet her and she watches the movie, I’ll let you know what she thinks!
